Our Mission

Jovenes Inmigrantes por un Futuro Mejor works to increase community awareness about House Bill 1403 – Texas law to allow undocumented students access to college at in-state tuition rates. JIFM advocates for the passage of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act (DREAM Act), a legislation that protects and strengthens the rights of immigrant students in the U.S. JIFM organizes immigrant students in high schools and colleges to work toward equal access to an education.  In order to encourage the participation of fellow students in institutions of higher education, JIFM conducts community outreach, provides civic empowerment and political involvement opportunities for young undocumented students. JIFM believes that providing legal status to undocumented students who are willing to improve themselves will definitely benefit the economy and the multicultural enrichment of this nation.
